Three Day Event - Silver Team Medal.

Showjumping - Team Gold Medal (and anyone who knows anything about how well badly the GB team has been doing in Nations Cups over the last couple of years will be stunned.) And not a Whittaker to be seen. Nick Skelton (with the extraordinary Big Star, the youngest and potentially the best horse there) and Ben Maher both lying well placed for the individual.

Dressage - British Team currently in Gold Medal position in the team event. Charlotte Dujardin, Carl Hester's extraordinary pupil lying first in the individual with Valegro (and good on his owners, who have refused six figure sums for him) and Hester himself in 5th with Uthopia, with Laura Bechtolsheimer and the huge Mistral Hojris in 7th. Four years ago this would have also been unthinkable, but the World Equestrian Games proved otherwise...

I don't follow equestrian sport, but then isn't half the point of the Olympics that you watch sport you otherwise wouldn't - and that showjumping final was incredibly tense and exciting!

Half the point, yes, but we would be watching televised equestrian sport anyway...

Mind you, it took the Olympics to convert me to cycling...

Ah, now cycling I do watch...
