Season of Mists and Mellow Fruitfulness

There is an excess of both this year. Yesterday and today it was heavy fog which looks as if it will not clear all day.

However, a couple of days ago the sun did break through, and photo opportunities ensured.

As for the fruitfulness...

Path of acorns

Apple and Oak

Haws

These are hornbeam seeds. I don't remember there being even 10% as many last year!

Lovely photos!

The tree in that first one still looks surprisingly green. Around here the leaves have nearly all turned and are dropping fast. And the sun has just come out, and I should tear myself away from writing and take the camera out for a bit.

Our oak trees haven't really started dropping most of their leaves yet, and a lot of them are still pretty greenish. The hornbeams, the ash, the field maple, the hawthorn and the birch have, however, turned and a don't have a lot of leaves left.

Absolutely beautiful pictures -- you rock.

Very pretty, Sue. I particularly like the first two.

Thank you. I think everyone likes the first two, but I was just lucky to see the shot.

Those are magical. Indeed, I rather want the second one framed on my wall!

Well, it would be available if you finally decided you really wanted it...

What gorgeous pictures! :-)

So autumnal!

I particularly like the light in the first one. Some of it is luck, just being in the right place at the right moment, but you seized the opportunity and the composition is lovely.

Thank you... None of these have been touched by photoshop though there has been a little judicious cropping.
