Watching Primeval 5.01 and 5.02
What a load of cobblers!

And no wonder! There isn't a single scriptwriter in the whole of series 5 who has written SF (in fact, they are basically soap people) except Hodges and Helen Raynor, who wrote, wait for it, Daleks in Manhattan, one of the most badly scripted and researched Who episodes of the modern era.

I have a very bad feeling about this.

*g* I'll be fascinated to see what you think.

The final twist at the very end was rather good.

Are all the plots as bloody contrived? And is everyone acting OOC all the way through?

No, don't tell me. I suppose I'll find out.

I was pretty underwhelmed. S5 isn't as bad as S3 and S4, but that's not saying much. I shall be interested to hear what you think of the rest. I liked the final twist, but otherwise I wasn't fussed. And in some cases I did a lot of shouting at the screen *g*.

There was a lot of shouting in this household, partly because of the ridiculousness (and biological impossibility) of the 'insects' but mainly because of the submarine scenes in episode 2. (Long ago, I was a Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea fan. I did a lot of research. I have to say that Irwin Allen and his writers did a lot more research - for series 1 - than the Primeval mob did. In fact, The Navy Lark seemed to have done more research!)

Not to mention the way most of them were acting way, way out of character. Lester, in particular. *sigh*

I enjoyed S5 waaay more tham S3 & 4 but... it just isn't S1 or 2. I watched it but it was just disposable brainless TV. Not inspired at all.

Have I missed something? Is it on a terrestrial or freeview chanel?

It hasn't been broadcast on a terrestrial channel yet. It was broadcast on Watch some weeks ago.

However, the DVD came out last week, and this is what I am watching.
