Going, going, gone.
I won't be around tomorrow and Wednesday, as I am driving to Sheffield for my father's funeral.

Go safely and take care,
much love.

Thanks, m'dear.

Hope to see you again in the break between garage conversion and boiler installation.

I missed your previous post, having not been reading, so belated sympathies. I hope the trip goes well and you can share and enjoy the happy memories.

My sympathies, and I hope the funeral and the trip go smoothly.

Thank you. That I'm not around may be just as well, considering I don't want an all-out fight on your journal.

(blink?) I mostly agree with what you have to say.

And if someone disagrees with you on my lj, they'd likely be disagreeing with me too, so your being gone wouldn't prevent it.

But this is probably not the time for it in your life; I will miss you while you're gone but I realize you're busy and have other things on your mind.

My thoughts are with you. I know what it's like to lose a loved one. May the coming hours and days bring you only as much turbulence as will be helpful. And feel free to either seek it out or avoid it in whatever way suits you best, including reading or avoiding my lj.

(hugs if desired)

I don't expect to fight with you at all, but I've just backed off over a fight with one of your commentators about Richard Dawkins, who has been one of my heroes since the early 1970s, when I first read The Selfish Gene. I won't say it triggered my interest in evolutionary biology (that had been done at school), but it certainly started me on the path of reading closely and extensively about it.

As I videod Dawkins' appearances on TV over 30 years (I just salvaged the Dimbleby lecture which became the essay Unweaving the Rainbow on VHS tape) I am very aware of both his lecture style and his debating style, and the "shrill and aggressive" accusations annoy me exceedingly.

I hope it goes as well as can be expected, my friend. Have a safe trip.

I'll be thinking of you, hon.

I hope it's not too stressful.

Thank you. I'm not looking forward. Neither is Ina, who is being left with eight cats, the dog, the builders replacing a soil pipe and a very stressful on-line cat club meeting.

Hope it all goes smoothly for you *hugs*

You are in my thoughts Lil. He must have been a very interesting man to have helped to shape you.

Thanks. My brother has written the eulogy and it is rather good.

Hope it all goes as well as can be expected . . .

Thinking of you.

Thank you. M25 and M1 here I come. *sigh*

Thank you. Everything went well.

*sends good thoughts and understanding other family members*

Thank you. My family, including the youngest member, my Great-nephew Stephen at 3 months, were a very conventional study in black and white.
