A Word on Why I Am Enjoying Dr Who
It's the page-turning, the what-the-f*ck-is-going-to-happen-next feeling.

This is a proper arc, unlike, say, the Eccleston season where you just got "Bad Wolf" painted around occasionally. Each season has dropped hints as to the Big Bad, but they have been very linear and you could happily ignore them.

Not here. Here you get clues in every episode, sometimes contradictory, and you do get information, with revelations and answers dropped in here and there. I haven't seen this done so well since Babylon Five. (To be fair, I haven't seen the new Battlestar Galactica.

I'll forgive a lot of lacunae for that.

It is rather fun isn't it. Nobody could accuse Amy of all that emo unrequited courtly love we had from some of her predecessors either.

Indeed. I like Amy a lot, and I understand her reaction. Oddly, you'd think that Rose would be earthier, but this is not the case.

I may actually have to pick up this season when it comes out on DVD, from what people are saying about it!

There are two more things going this season: Moffat actually thinks his audience has some intelligence, and he doesn't think Dr Who is actually science fiction but a "a dark fairy tale."
