Because winterhawk (where I found these links) isn't on most of your flists, and because I hadn't seen these before, and they are so true..

Thank you for seriously improving my day!

It certainly improved mine when I clicked the links at about 6am...

You're right - the first 2 of these rock - a good way to start the day!

I suspect you can largely deduce a readers age by which ones they find funniest.

The last lot cast the net against an older generation

They certainly made me laugh though

Well, I'm older than you. He doesn't hit the target so cleanly with the last lot, though I am very fond of the E.E. Smith one (I have that edition - I think it is Children of the Lens...

Excellent! Mary Sue Gets a Dragon made me laugh in particular.

I'm inordinately fond of "My Little Pony Goes to War"... and I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks 'Magician' (et seq) reads exactly like a D&D campaign.

Hey, you need a "swallow beverage" warning before those. I very nearly had to buy a new keyboard after the first bunch. lol

That's the best morning laugh I've had in years, thank you.

I really think that title should be required on all Frank Herbert reissues.

There's a lot of truth in them there titles.

I actually like Dune Messiah but the rest of the series is total crap. (I also have a lot of time for Under Pressure aka Dragon in the Sea aka 21st Century Sub, and for The Dorsadi Experiment and Whipping Star. Hellstrom's Hive is terrifying.) However, Herbert is one of those writers who is either brilliant or crap. There seems to be no in-between.

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!
